En 1927, Plutarco El\u00edas Calles construy\u00f3 la carretera que conectaba a la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico con el puerto de\u00a0 Acapulco pasando por Cuernavaca.<\/p>\n<p>La carretera permiti\u00f3 cruzar Cuernavaca de norte a sur de manera lineal y disminuy\u00f3 considerablemente el tiempo de traslado entre la capital del pa\u00eds y la de Morelos. Esto fue cr\u00edtico para consolidar a Cuernavaca como destino tur\u00edstico y de descanso para los habitantes de la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_38490\" style=\"width: 419px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-38490\" class=\" wp-image-38490\" src=\"https:\/\/centrourbano.com\/revista\/wp-content\/uploads\/Centro-Urbano-Al-rescate-de-avenida-Morelos-1.jpg\" alt=\"Avenida Morelos Centro, Cuernavaca\" width=\"409\" height=\"294\" srcset=\"https:\/\/centrourbano.com\/revista\/wp-content\/uploads\/Centro-Urbano-Al-rescate-de-avenida-Morelos-1.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/centrourbano.com\/revista\/wp-content\/uploads\/Centro-Urbano-Al-rescate-de-avenida-Morelos-1-300x216.jpg 300w, https:\/\/centrourbano.com\/revista\/wp-content\/uploads\/Centro-Urbano-Al-rescate-de-avenida-Morelos-1-1000x719.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/centrourbano.com\/revista\/wp-content\/uploads\/Centro-Urbano-Al-rescate-de-avenida-Morelos-1-768x552.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 409px) 100vw, 409px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-38490\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Avenida Morelos Centro, Cuernavaca<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Sin embargo, con el paso del tiempo y el crecimiento urbano, la carretera se convirti\u00f3 en una v\u00eda interna de la ciudad a la que se llam\u00f3 avenida Morelos. Hoy esa calle, que atraviesa el coraz\u00f3n del centro hist\u00f3rico de Cuernavaca, est\u00e1 colapsada por el tr\u00e1nsito de coches y particularmente de camiones.<\/p>\n<p>Un sistema de transporte profundamente disfuncional m\u00e1s el aumento del parque vehicular en la zona metropolitana, han hecho de la parte c\u00e9ntrica de esta avenida un infierno urbano. Justamente a la altura del Jard\u00edn Borda y de la Catedral de Cuernavaca reina el tr\u00e1fico, el ruido y el smog. Los turistas y visitantes tienen que torear coches y camiones para poder cruzar algo tan simple como del Borda a la Catedral.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, la calle rompe la continuidad entre otros atractivos como el Museo de la Ciudad y el Centro Cultural Universitario, por ejemplo. La iglesia de Guadalupe, la que est\u00e1 junto al Borda, no se aprecia bien, pues no hay ni por d\u00f3nde observarla. Tampoco las casonas que est\u00e1n del lado izquierdo de la calle pueden disfrutarse. Todo un patrimonio arquitect\u00f3nico desperdiciado.<\/p>\n<p>Avenida Morelos, en la parte del centro, deber\u00eda ser un paseo y no una avenida. El problema es que tanto los pol\u00edticos como la sociedad estamos acostumbrados a sufrir su caos. As\u00ed que a su rescate casi nadie ha puesto atenci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>En la \u00faltima d\u00e9cada, la \u00fanica alternativa puesta sobre la mesa, es la de construir un t\u00fanel que elimine por completo la circulaci\u00f3n de la parte c\u00e9ntrica de la avenida. El problema es que es un proyecto caro y la ciudad est\u00e1 en bancarrota.<\/p>\n<p>As\u00ed que la soluci\u00f3n, al menos por ahora, debe ser f\u00e1cil y barata. F\u00e1cil desde la perspectiva pol\u00edtica y barata desde la parte econ\u00f3mica. Por ello, una alternativa para rescatar avenida Morelos sin necesidad de inversiones millonarias o de procesos sociales complejos, es la de desviar a los camiones a la avenida paralela a Morelos llamada \u00c1lvaro Obreg\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>En \u00c1lvaro Obreg\u00f3n, calle que actualmente es de un solo sentido y en la cual del lado izquierdo se estacionan coches, se podr\u00eda construir un carril confinado para que el transporte p\u00fablico circule en contraflujo. En la calle Mariano Arista los camiones se podr\u00edan volver a incorporar a la avenida Morelos.<\/p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-38498\" src=\"https:\/\/centrourbano.com\/revista\/wp-content\/uploads\/Centro-Urbano-Al-rescate-de-avenida-Morelos-mapa.jpg\" alt=\"Centro Urbano - Al rescate de avenida Morelos mapa\" width=\"671\" height=\"522\" srcset=\"https:\/\/centrourbano.com\/revista\/wp-content\/uploads\/Centro-Urbano-Al-rescate-de-avenida-Morelos-mapa.jpg 1602w, https:\/\/centrourbano.com\/revista\/wp-content\/uploads\/Centro-Urbano-Al-rescate-de-avenida-Morelos-mapa-300x234.jpg 300w, https:\/\/centrourbano.com\/revista\/wp-content\/uploads\/Centro-Urbano-Al-rescate-de-avenida-Morelos-mapa-1000x778.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/centrourbano.com\/revista\/wp-content\/uploads\/Centro-Urbano-Al-rescate-de-avenida-Morelos-mapa-768x598.jpg 768w, https:\/\/centrourbano.com\/revista\/wp-content\/uploads\/Centro-Urbano-Al-rescate-de-avenida-Morelos-mapa-1536x1196.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 671px) 100vw, 671px\" \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Obviamente, esta idea debe ser revisada por especialistas de mente abierta. Sin embargo, desviar los camiones permitir\u00eda que la calle Morelos, en su tramo c\u00e9ntrico, se convierta en una zona de circulaci\u00f3n lenta donde el peat\u00f3n tenga prioridad.<\/p>\n<p>Este modelo de calle, a la que los urbanistas llaman zona treinta, es por ejemplo la avenida 16 de septiembre en el centro hist\u00f3rico de la ciudad de M\u00e9xico. Los autos s\u00ed pueden circular, pero la prioridad del espacio es para los peatones.\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-38496\" src=\"https:\/\/centrourbano.com\/revista\/wp-content\/uploads\/Centro-Urbano-Av.-16-de-Septiembre.jpg\" alt=\"Centro Urbano - Av. 16 de Septiembre\" width=\"755\" height=\"566\" srcset=\"https:\/\/centrourbano.com\/revista\/wp-content\/uploads\/Centro-Urbano-Av.-16-de-Septiembre.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/centrourbano.com\/revista\/wp-content\/uploads\/Centro-Urbano-Av.-16-de-Septiembre-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/centrourbano.com\/revista\/wp-content\/uploads\/Centro-Urbano-Av.-16-de-Septiembre-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/centrourbano.com\/revista\/wp-content\/uploads\/Centro-Urbano-Av.-16-de-Septiembre-100x75.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 755px) 100vw, 755px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Rescatar la avenida Morelos cambiar\u00eda la din\u00e1mica del centro, haci\u00e9ndolo un espacio mucho m\u00e1s agradable y, por ende, m\u00e1s atractivo para visitar. Adem\u00e1s, podr\u00eda generar la apertura de mont\u00f3n de negocios en casas que hoy est\u00e1n abandonas.
