{"id":151498,"date":"2024-10-30T09:00:26","date_gmt":"2024-10-30T15:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/centrourbano.com\/revista\/?p=151498"},"modified":"2024-10-29T21:37:04","modified_gmt":"2024-10-30T03:37:04","slug":"5ta-avenida-nueva-york","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/centrourbano.com\/revista\/urbanismo\/5ta-avenida-nueva-york\/","title":{"rendered":"La 5ta Avenida de Nueva York ser\u00e1 un bulevar peatonal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>\u201cCasi estamos duplicando el espacio transitable en las aceras, agregando \u00e1rboles, asientos y espacios de activaci\u00f3n\u201d, dijo el alcalde de Nueva York<\/em><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>El <strong>alcalde de la ciudad de Nueva York, Eric Adams<\/strong>, junto con <strong>Future of Fifth Partnership<\/strong>, dieron a conocer sus planes para transformar la <strong>5ta Avenida<\/strong> en un bulevar centrado en los peatones.<\/p>\n<p>De esta manera, el proyecto, cuya finalizaci\u00f3n est\u00e1 prevista para el verano de 2025, incluye <strong>ampliar las aceras en un 46%,<\/strong> <strong>reducir los carriles de tr\u00e1nsito<\/strong>, <strong>mejorar la seguridad de los peatones<\/strong> con cruces peatonales m\u00e1s cortos y agrega<strong>r vegetaci\u00f3n e iluminaci\u00f3n<\/strong>. Esto entre las calles Bryant Park y Central Park.<\/p>\n<p>Actualmente, la <strong>5ta Avenida<\/strong> tiene una anchura de 30 metros, con cinco carriles para el tr\u00e1fico vehicular y dos aceras de 7 metros de ancho cada una. Y, aunque los peatones representan el 70% del tr\u00e1fico, las aceras ocupan s\u00f3lo el 46% del espacio.<\/p>\n<p>Dado que cada cuadra tiene capacidad para alrededor de <strong>5,500 peatones<\/strong> por hora en promedio, y hasta 23,000 durante las temporadas navide\u00f1as, la configuraci\u00f3n actual tiene dificultades para gestionar este volumen de tr\u00e1fico peatonal.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s de que el espacio peatonal se reduce a\u00fan m\u00e1s debido a la <strong>infraestructura de las calles<\/strong>, como se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n, paradas de autob\u00fas, iluminaci\u00f3n y botes de basura.<\/p>\n<p>Por ello, la propuesta para la nueva <strong>5ta Avenida<\/strong> pretende <strong>ampliar el ancho de la acera <\/strong>a alrededor de 10 metros en cada lado, proporcionando aproximadamente 7 metros de espacio para caminar sin obst\u00e1culos y un segmento adicional de 2.6 metros para \u00e1rboles.<\/p>\n<p>Asimismo, se incluir\u00e1n m\u00e1s de <strong>230 \u00e1rboles nuevos<\/strong>, <strong>1,858 metros cuadrados de maceteros<\/strong>, <strong>nuevas \u00e1reas para sentarse<\/strong>, <strong>espacios de activaci\u00f3n e iluminaci\u00f3n mejorada<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>De acuerdo con las <strong>autoridades de Nueva York<\/strong>, la 5ta Avenida tiene un importante papel para la econom\u00eda de la ciudad, ya que contribuye con 313,000 empleos directos e indirectos.<\/p>\n<p>En ese sentido, la iniciativa de redise\u00f1o espera continuar y fortalecer este rol mediante la creaci\u00f3n de un entorno urbano m\u00e1s acogedor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEn este momento, el 70% de las personas en la <strong>5ta Avenida<\/strong> son peatones, pero s\u00f3lo pueden utilizar menos de la mitad del espacio. Durante las vacaciones, eso equivale a 23,000 personas cada hora api\u00f1adas como sardinas en las aceras estrechas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEso no tiene sentido, as\u00ed que vamos a cambiar el gui\u00f3n. Casi estamos duplicando el espacio transitable en las aceras, agregando cientos de nuevos \u00e1rboles y maceteros, instalando nuevos asientos y espacios de activaci\u00f3n, y mucho m\u00e1s\u201d, se\u00f1al\u00f3 el <strong>alcalde de Nueva York<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<a
